stuck in a meteor shower

part 1 about a dear little astronaut.
promise i’ll share it here once i write it ;))

stuck in a meteor shower

i am an astronaut,
floating in space;
a heavy glass bubble,
surrounding my face — i am stuck in a meteor shower.

i float and i watch the—
blue-green swirling ball.
down there it’s the world but,
up here it’s so small — and i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

the bay windows opened;
they told me i’d fly,
then shot me right out;
didn’t mention i’d die — now i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

a tube is my lifeline;
it’s like i’m on Marrs.
my friends in the darkness,
as distant as stars — as i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

i hear through my earpiece,
the voices below;
but my speaker is broke,
and my distance does grow — cuz i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

my tears cloud my vision,
they fog up the glass.
the sun in the background,
a burning red mass — while i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

alone here i’m floating;
i want to go home.
the darkness surrounds me,
forever alone — i am stuck in a meteor shower.

-the poet under the sidewalk-

i love psalm 139 part of which says,

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You!

i definitely suggest reading the whole thing! ❤

we can’t believe the lie from hell which says that God has forgotten us.
especially when it is so clear in the Bible He wrote that he never, ever will. ❤

well, that’s all ive got for this post.
lots of love, maggie

p.s. oh! u can also go to the newly finalized “poems” tab on my blog to see them all in one place with cool new “covers”… ;))

  1. The psalms are one of my favorites, especially 139!
    Ah, Maggie, now I must know what happened to this poor astronaut! *sobs*
    Anyway, I love your style for this poem! Look forward to part two 🙂
