Ready, set, GO!

And I know this is a week late but as you know, NaNo is up and running! The Wrimos are working hard sprinting away! 😉  Our region of 958 novelists has already written 7,390,001 words!! WOW!

We’re at day 11 and….Mal already hit 50,000 words. =O For those of you who are wondering if they’re readable, yes, I can testify they are more than readable. His story is chugging along nicely and he’s working on his climax! (Can’t wait!)

I find myself checking the calendar more and more, counting down to spring break. I guess my plan didn’t really work out and I am beyond tired of school. The rest of February stumbles and trips by. The cold thaws and melts into the sky and spring pushes itself up into our world from somewhere beneath the soil. I watch the neighborhood wake back up from its hibernation. Weather wise, it was an easy winter. Socially? Not so much. But with the spring comes hope.

Concentrating really hard during a word sprint! ;P

I am currently at 22,000 words on “Alexis Accepted” which gives me some room for Thanksgiving and things like that. 🙂 Mal and I have been having a lot of fun with all the other friends doing it this year. The other day while brainstorming my whole climax idea was changed drastically from what it ordinarily was. I think you guys will like it better. 🙂 Some of the characters are giving me trouble and refuse to speak to each other but I’m working on them and over all it’s been really fun.

The minty warmth of the hot tea fills my whole being as I swallow some of it. I decide mint was made to go with rain. The rain. I can’t help but think about Michael — wherever he is. Maybe alone, maybe in bad company. Maybe across the nation, maybe one neighborhood over. Maybe dead.

Father, please be with Michael, my heart pleads. Do whatever it takes to bring him home.

Happy writing and clear minds to all you Wrimos! You guys are doing awesome! Keep up the good work!!

  1. Way to go, Maggie!! This is the first time I’ve commented on your blog, but we’re buddies on NaNo (my username is OMR ;)), and I believe you did a word sprint with me and a few other girls two Saturday’s ago.

I love that you and your brother are doing this together!! Me and my sister have joined forces this month 😛 Lots of sprints in order! I reached 30k yesterday, and now I’m starting to feel the effects of all my writing…hoping things don’t get too sticky with my story process this week.

    Happy writing! 😀

I’m glad your sister’s doing it with you! That makes it a lot more fun 🙂 WOW! 30k already! Way to go! Keep it up!
